A large and demonstrably active group: 1,395 members and 2,188 past events, with outings still going up — an Engle Peak and Lake hike was scheduled for Saturday 16 August 2026 at 6:30am when checked. Hikes span all levels and are organized entirely through the Meetup calendar.

Rotating conserved properties
Docent-led hikes on conserved land, posted individually rather than on a fixed cadence — the 2026 season included a four-mile Palisades/Rimrock Conservation Area outer loop led by a volunteer docent, alongside volunteer orientations and author talks. Dates come out through the Conservancy’s email list.
Gonzaga students only · trips through the academic year
Not open to the public — trips run for the Gonzaga community. Backpacking at Beehive Lake, an annual spring-break climbing and canyoneering week in Moab, and a rotating backcountry-ski trip carrying an avalanche level 1 course.

Wednesday Night Hikes 5:45pm · plus scheduled backpacking trips
Rotating Inland Northwest trailheads
The club’s Wednesday Night Hike series runs at 5:45pm and is explicitly pitched at newcomers — guests are welcome, and the club calls it the best way to get to know them. A family edition meets at 5:30pm and sets off at 5:45pm from the Glenrose Trailhead, covering half a mile to a mile and a half with nature activities for children. Backpacking trips are scheduled separately on the activity calendar. General membership meetings are quarterly at 6:30pm with guest speakers. The club is a 501(c)(3) founded in 1915.
