Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated July 2026

The Outdoor Dispatchis free to use and reader-supported. Where we take part in a partner’s affiliate program, some of the outbound links on the site are affiliate links — and this disclosure, offered in the spirit of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements (16 CFR Part 255), explains how that works.

What that means

We link out to partners such as AllTrails to help you plan — for example, the “plan the route” link on trail activity pages. Where that partner runs an affiliate program we take part in, the link is an affiliate link: if you sign up or make a purchase after following it, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

It never affects what we list

Affiliate relationships never influence which groups, organizers, or trails appear on The Outdoor Dispatch, or how we present them. Listings are chosen and ordered on their own merits; an outbound link is only ever there to help you plan, never because a partner pays us.

We don’t sell anything

The Outdoor Dispatchis an informational directory — we don’t sell products or services, and any purchase happens on a third-party site under its own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for how outbound links and your data are handled, and our Terms of Service for the rest.
