MSU Outdoor Recreation Program
Rotating trips & clinics (academic year)
Off-campus trips plus on-campus clinics, from avalanche safety to backcountry cooking. One-off and sign-up based rather than a drop-in; eligibility and pricing are on the sign-up page. Questions: trips@montana.edu.
Weekly · 90-minute beginner class
Top-rope belay technique, commands, rope management and movement fundamentals — enough to use the gym on your own. Free for members, $40 otherwise, day pass and gear included. Ages 14+, advance registration required.

Summer hours are 1–5pm Tuesday to Thursday; closed Monday, Friday and weekends. Term-time hours differ, and Campus Rec closes entirely for its annual “Big Scrub” in late August.
